The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has published a list of professions for which vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory

According to the order of the Ministry of Health of October 4, registered with the Ministry of Justice on October 7, employees are subject to mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for the duration of the quarantine:

  • central executive authorities and their territorial bodies;
  • local state administrations and their structural divisions;
  • institutions of higher, postgraduate, professional higher, professional (vocational), general secondary, including special, preschool, out-of-school education, institutions of specialized education and scientific institutions, regardless of the type and form of ownership.

“Educators and government officials interact with a large number of people every day, and therefore at risk of contracting the coronavirus. Almost everyone who goes to the hospital with COVID-19unvaccinated… This decision is designed to protect the life and health of Ukrainians and their loved ones, creating a safe environment in educational institutions and institutions, “- argued the adoption of the document by the head of the Ministry of Health Viktor Lyashko.

The order of the department comes into force one month from the date of its publication.

It is noted that teachers and government officials who have absolute contraindications to vaccinations will not be subject to mandatory vaccination.

At the same time, those employees who do not get vaccinated against COVID-19 within a month will be suspended from work without pay.

“We have completed the first stage of identifying professions for which vaccinations against COVID-19 are mandatory. The next stage in this list will include employees of all government agencies, organizations and enterprises, social workers and postal workers,” Lyashko summed up.

On September 22, Lyashko announced that the Ministry of Health proposed to introduce compulsory vaccination against coronavirus infection for employees of educational institutions, ministries and central authorities, as well as local state administrations.

In addition, in the summer, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution according to which, in the event of a region leaving the “green” zone of epidemic danger more than 80% of teachers must be vaccinatedso that the educational institution continues to work. Ukraine is now in the “yellow” zone quarantine. Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet on September 29 said that in Ukraine 69% of teachers vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
