4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes in Romania near Bulgarian Border with no Reported Damage

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck around 11 p.m. in Romania between the towns of Turnu Severin and Turnu Jiu.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 100 km from the border with Bulgaria. The nearest Bulgarian city is Vidin.

The earthquake was also felt in Vratsa, it is clear from witness statements on the website of the European Seismological Center. There are claims on social networks from residents of Vidin, Kula, Montana and Svishtov that they felt the tremor. The BAS data are for seismic activity of 4 on the Richter scale.
