10 new infections in Parma, 132 in Emilia Romagna (half are “imported” cases). Average age 37 years

Since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, 32,760 positive cases have been recorded in Emilia-Romagna, 132 more than yesterday, of which 70 asymptomatic identified as part of the regional contact tracing and screening activities.

The control and prevention activity continues: of the 132 new cases, more than half (74) were already in isolation at the time the swab was carried out and 78 were identified in the context of already known outbreaks.

There are 41 new infections linked to returns from abroad, for which the Region has provided two nasopharyngeal swabs during fiduciary isolation if arriving from non-Schengen countries and one swab if returning from Greece, Spain, Croatia and Malta . The number of return cases from other regions is 28.

The average age of new positives today is 37.

Out of 70 new asymptomatic patients, 41 were identified through screening, tests introduced by the Region and pre-hospitalization tests, 28 thanks to contact tracing, while the method of identification is currently being ascertained.

As regards the situation in the area, the highest number of cases are recorded in the provinces of Reggio Emilia (30), Modena (21), Bologna (20), Ravenna (16) and Parma (10).

In the province of Reggio Emilia, out of 30 new positives, 9 returned from abroad (2 from Ukraine, 3 from Albania, 3 from Morocco, 1 from Tunisia), 8 from other regions (2 from Marche, 3 from Campania, 2 from Tuscany, 1 from Puglia), 9 are contacts of cases already known within family outbreaks, 2 identified with workplace screening, 2 are cases classified as sporadic.

In the province of Modena, out of 21 new positives, 14 are returning from abroad (of which 8 from Albania, 2 from Ukraine, 2 from Turkey, 1 from Spain and 1 from Croatia), 3 from other regions (of which 1 from Puglia, 1 from Sardinia and 1 from Sicily), 3 from tracing on already known cases, 1 classified as sporadic.

In Bologna and its province, out of 20 new positives, 9 are returning from abroad (5 from Ukraine, 3 from Albania and 1 from Hungary), 8 returning from other regions (of which 7 from Sardinia and 1 from Puglia ), 2 were diagnosed after the holidays on the Romagna Riviera, 1 case classified as sporadic.

In that of Ravenna, out of 16 new cases, 5 were identified upon returning from abroad (2 from Ukraine, 1 from Croatia, 1 from Senegal and 1 from France), 10 emerged as contacts of already known cases (of which 6 in the family), and 1 sporadic case.

In the province of Parma, out of 10 new positives, 2 are returning from Sardinia, 4 swabs for the presence of symptoms, 1 was diagnosed thanks to pre-hospitalization screening, 2 in contact tracing activities and 1 thanks to screening for the categories most at risk.

These are the data – ascertained at 12 today on the basis of institutional requests – relating to the progress of the epidemic in the region.

The swabs made yesterday are 5,403, for a total of 968,146. To these are added 2,093 serological tests.

The active cases, ie the number of actual patients, are 3,493 to date (123 more than those registered yesterday).

There is no death in the whole of Emilia-Romagna.

People in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, or are symptom-free, are a total of 3,356 (124 more than yesterday), 95% of active cases. There are 18 patients in intensive care (4 more than yesterday), while the number of patients hospitalized in the other Covid departments drops to 119 (5 less than yesterday).

A total of 24,803 people recovered (+9 compared to yesterday): 13 “clinically cured”, that is, who became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 24,790 those declared cured in all respects because they were negative in two consecutive tests.

These are the new cases of positivity in the area, which refer not to the province of residence, but to the one in which the diagnosis was made: 4,862 in Piacenza (+6, of which 3 symptomatic), 4,031 in Parma (+10, of which 6 symptomatic), 5,481 in Reggio Emilia (+30, of which 13 symptomatic), 4,546 in Modena (+21, of which 12 symptomatic), 5,811 in Bologna (+20, of which 9 symptomatic), 525 cases in Imola (+4, of 1 symptomatic), 1,285 in Ferrara (+8, of which 2 symptomatic), 1,534 in Ravenna (+16, of which 8 symptomatic), 1,214 in Forlì (+6, of which 3 symptomatic), 1,011 in Cesena (+5 ).
