In the province of Groningen, twelve people have been tested positive for the corona virus since Sunday. This is evident from the published figures from the Corona dashboard of the national government.

Nine infections have been diagnosed in the municipality of Groningen. In addition to the municipality of Groningen, one new corona infection was found in the municipalities of Hogeland, Midden-Groningen and Appingedam.

Nationally, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) received 797 new reports about corona infections. That is less than the 925 positive test results recorded on Sunday, but significantly more than the average for the past few weeks, which fluctuated around 500 cases per day.

The GGDs today reported 11 new hospital admissions and no deaths to the RIVM. Last week it involved an average of 8 new hospital admissions and 3 deaths per day.

There are 140 corona patients in hospitals in the Netherlands, 31 of whom are in the ICU.

The RIVM will again issue weekly figures on Tuesday. Last week, the institute reported 3,597 new cases in the seven days before. That was almost the same as the number of positive tests a week earlier.

Due to backlogs at the GGD, deaths and hospital admissions are not always immediately reported. Most admissions and deaths were therefore not yesterday, but were only then reported to the RIVM.
