Al-Marsad Newspaper: White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre refused to answer a reporter’s question about the US-Africa summit and left the conference room after an argument with the reporter.
The reporter said, “Can I ask a question about the African-American summit? Karen, why is it difficult to give an opportunity to ask a question about the African-American summit while the American president is meeting with 50 African leaders?” Jean -Pierre replied: “This is not difficult.”
The reporter went on to ask for an opportunity to ask his question about the US-Africa summit, before Jean-Pierre Kahn replied: “I tried to answer your question, but you didn’t invite me.”
The journalist was surprised by the answer, because he had not yet asked the question, and the spokeswoman repeated: “I tried, but you didn’t let me, so now your colleagues will ask. I literally tried to answer your question, but you didn’t let me.”
The reporter replied again, “Let me ask a question,” but she ignored him and left the conference room, saying, “Okay, thank you all, see you tomorrow.”
