I noticed that in RDR 2 some NPCs speak German even though the game is set in America (where the United States is today).
Since RDR 2 is extremely realistic, I hardly think this is just a bug. That’s why I wonder if many Germans emigrated to America at the time?
If so, how did they get there? There weren’t even cars, so probably no airplanes either. Ships already existed, but traveling by ship was long and uncomfortable. There was little food and many passengers died. So I can’t imagine that many Germans voluntarily came to the United States on such a ship. And as far as I know, Germany didn’t have any colonies either.
