For the fourth time this year, WWE SmackDown was recorded on Friday night following next week’s live edition. Fans from St. Louis, Missouri were offered two episodes.
The reason: WWE stars will travel to Europe (Glasgow, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Geneva) on Saturday for the four-day tour. Then it’s up to Saudi Arabia. “Crown Jewel” is scheduled there on November 5th. Consequently, the SmackDown episode had to be pre-produced.
In addition to the results, there will obviously be backstage, interviews, etc. in the TV show. As usual, we will publish the full report of the show on Saturday morning.
WWE fans were offered the following matches in the Enterprise Center:
(1) Liv Morgan defeated Sonya Deville in a match without disqualification.
Morgan survived a powerbomb on multiple chairs. There was also an announcement with a broken table outside the ring in this match without DQ. In order to decide, Liv was able to knock Oblivion Deville onto the chairs and then block.
(2) LA Knight defeated Ricochet.
Both men briefly clashed in a backstage segment in the previous issue. Knight provoked Ricochet by eyeing referee Samantha Irvin (Ricochet’s girlfriend in real life). Knight later won by countering a roll-in. However, Knight grabbed the ring strings for a dirty win.
*** Jimmy and Jey Uso announced in a promo that they would defeat the Brawling Brutes on Crown Jewel and become the longest-running tag team champions. Objected the new day: if the victory against the Brawling Brutes succeeds, they will wait for the Usos. The New Day record can be beaten by Jimmy and Jey in the second half of November.
The Brawling Brutes attacked the Usos in this segment. Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa support the brothers. Ultimately, the Bloodline dominated.
(3) Shayna Baszler defeated Natalya by submission with the Kirifuda Clutch.
Bazler had knocked out Natalya in a backstage segment in the previous issue after a derogatory comment about Rousey’s victory over Emma. This is how the game was born.
(4) Braun Strowman defeated five local opponents.
The MVP has given Strowman a special task with this handicap match. Strowman then hired MVP, who has repeatedly admitted to the power slam. Omos was not present in this segment.
(5) Intercontinental champion Gunther successfully defended his title against Rey Mysterio in the main event of the show.
This year there will be another pre-recorded edition of SmackDown in December. The episode of December 23. it will be produced a week earlier (December 16) in Chicago (Illinois). Just before the end of the year, on December 30, WWE’s last live broadcast of 2022 arrives from Tampa, Florida.
