According to the executive director of the firm, Ugur Sahin, by mid-2022, such conditions will exist even in regions with a high population density, such as India.

“We have to provide a really high level of vaccination around the world, otherwise no one will be safe,” he told The Wall Street Journal.

Sahin believes that more countries will achieve the collective protection they need over the next 12 months through the spread of COVID-19 vaccines.

Now, the head of BioNTech said, Europe and the United States managed to start controlling the pandemic thanks to vaccinations and constant quarantine measures – in particular, the requirements for social distance.

However, he warned that the infection is on the rise in countries like India, where there are far fewer vaccinated people and the large population makes it very difficult to avoid crowds.
