According to the portal digit.in WhatsApp will only support Android version 4.0.3 and later after January 1, 2021, as well as the iPhone with iOS version 9 and later. WhatsApp will therefore stop working on seven versions of older Android systems and also on six versions of older iPhones.
In the case of Android, owners of HTC Desire, LG Optimus Blck and others that use an older version of the operating system than 4.0.3 will lose WhatsApp. WhatsApp will also be lost to iPhones up to iPhone 4, as they use the incompatible iOS 7 operating system. Users of higher-end iPhones — specifically, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S will need to update their smartphones. and iOS 9.
To check if your smartphone is running the latest version of the Android operating system, select Settings from the menu, select About phone from the list of options, and then tap Check for updates. The phone will then process any pending updates.
