WhatsApp Introduces Advanced Features, Your Cellphone is Anti-Slow

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – This week, WhatsApp officially announced the automatic message deletion feature and the presence of this feature is expected to make cellphones better and less slow.

This feature will later be available on Android, Apple iOS, KaiOS and desktop. WhatsApp revealed that this feature will launch this month.

WhatsApp named this latest option the temporary messaging feature. When the temporary messaging feature is turned on, new messages sent to chats will disappear after 7 days. This helps make the conversation feel lighter and more private.

This temporary message feature besides functioning to maintain the confidentiality of chats, can also make cellphone storage space more spacious so that the cellphone will be slow.

“In an individual chat, each party can turn on or turn off the temporary message feature. In a group chat, only the admin is in control of turning on and off the temporary message feature,” WhatsApp said in an official statement, Thursday (5/11/2020).

WhatsApp explained that when this feature is activated the message will be deleted automatically even though the chat has not been read. However, message previews may still appear in the notification until WhatsApp is opened.

“When you reply to a message, the original message will be quoted. If the message you reply to is a temporary message, the quoted message will probably remain in the chat after 7 days,” WhatsApp said.

WhatsApp explains that if a temporary message is forwarded to a chat that turns off the temporary message feature, the message will not be lost in the forwarded chat.

“If a user creates a backup before the message is lost, a temporary message will be included in the backup. The temporary message will be deleted when the user restores from the backup,” WhatsApp said.
