A red rat snake, also known as the corn snake, is found primarily in the southern and southeastern United States, according to the Blue Lagoon Knowledge Center. The animal gets its name from hunting rats and mice in forests or corn fields. The slenderly built strangling hose is between 150 and 180 centimeters long.
