The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, received, at Baabda Palace, the official invitation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to participate in the thirty-first regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level, to be held in Algeria, on first and second November next.

The invitation was made by the Minister of Justice and keeper of the seals of the Algerian government, Abderrachid Tabbi, in the presence of the Algerian ambassador to Beirut, Abd al-Karim Raqibi, and the adviser of the Algerian foreign ministry, Mr. Mohamed Merimi.

In the invitation letter, the Algerian president expressed the hope that President Aoun’s participation in the summit “will be an effective contribution to its success in light of the pioneering role of its sister Lebanese Republic, as one of the founders of the Arab League and its history. full of noble positions and sincere efforts in defending the issues of our Arab nation, first of all ”. The Palestinian cause ”.

He stressed that “Algeria, which has the honor of hosting this important Arab event, in light of the delicate circumstances our nation is going through and the challenges it faces, especially those caused by the growing tensions on the international scene, counts on a lot on the strong participation of the fraternal Lebanon, in making the most of this renewed date “. and peoples, present and future.

The Minister of Medicine also greeted President Aoun Tebboune with greetings and good luck wishes to him and to Lebanon, underlining that his country looks forward to Lebanon’s participation in the summit, which will be an opportunity to gather the speech of the Arabs in a framework of consultation and coordination.

President Aoun responded by thanking the invitation, sending the greetings of the Algerian minister to Tebboune, expressing appreciation for the support provided by Algeria to Lebanon during the difficult circumstances it went through, especially after the explosion in the port of Beirut.

The discussion covered Lebanese-Algerian relations and how to develop them in all fields, as well as relations between Arab countries, where President Aoun wished Algeria success in organizing the summit after a three-year break, especially since Algeria chose a summit date as a glorious occasion, the Algerian revolution. President Aoun also wished success for Algerian diplomatic efforts, which are working to provide the ingredients for the success of the summit, which is held at a time when Arab countries are tackling crucial issues that require reunification.

Furthermore, President Michel Aoun considered, during his meeting at Palazzo Baabda, with the delegation of the Asian Mini Football Association, visiting Lebanon on the occasion of the convocation of its general assembly in Beirut from 17 to 19 September, that sport creates the noblest relations between peoples and bringing their children closer, overcoming political barriers, and uniting around moral and national values.

He called on young people to engage in sporting activities for their benefits in terms of rapprochement, convergence and honorable competition for the achievement of lofty goals, seeking a glimmer of hope that demonstrates cooperation and solidarity that bear fruit for the benefit of all.

For his part, the President of the Federation, Philip Gouda, thanked President Aoun for the welcome, expressing his pride in what Lebanon is doing at the level of the International Mini-Football Federation and introducing it to the region, and congratulating the Lebanese Federation on its achievements.

He stressed that the reason for his presence in Lebanon is the participation in the elections to be held to elect the president of the Asian Federation and to support the candidate Ahmed Dench, head of the Lebanese Federation, which was founded in 2016 and plays an important role. in introducing this sport at the level of Lebanon and the region. He stressed that one of the future objectives of the AFC is to organize an international match and sporting activities in Lebanon to help promote the tourism sector there.

President Aoun responded with a speech in which he welcomed the delegation to Lebanon, wishing its members success in their mission, underlining the importance of the sporting achievements achieved by Lebanon and which raised its name in the world of different sports.

He also welcomed what the federation intends to do in Lebanon to support the tourism sector internally through the establishment of international sports matches and activities within it, recalling that Lebanon has hosted many sports matches and tournaments on its soil. international and regional nature, characterized by perfection and good organization, left positive echoes among all the participants.
