US Military Retaliates Against Iran-Backed Militia Groups, Three Aircraft Carriers Deployed, and Chinese Counterfeit Goods Contain Carcinogens

Hello everyone, welcome to the program “Looking at the Wind and Cloud”, I am Mei Ling.

Let’s talk to you today: The US military retaliates against militia groups supported by Iran. Will the US and Iran go to war next? Three U.S. aircraft carriers appeared in the Indo-Pacific waters to deter the CCP and North Korea. Analysts believe that the CCP’s fighter jets conducting exercises in the Taiwan Strait have no practical significance. If they are engaged in actual combat, they will be trapped in a trap. Counterfeit goods from mainland China contain carcinogens that exceed the legal limit by up to 930 times.

U.S. military retaliates

The Middle East is in a state of hot war. The US military has carried out large-scale air strikes against the Houthi organization in Yemen and continuously intercepted the anti-ship missiles and drones of the Houthi organization. At the same time, the United States has also taken action against Iran and its proxies.

At the end of last month, a U.S. military base in northeastern Jordan was attacked by a drone, killing three U.S. soldiers and injuring 41 others. This incident was carried out by an Iranian-backed militia.

On February 2, the United States carried out air strikes on 85 targets in 7 locations in Iraq and Syria, attacking the command centers, missile and drone warehouses, and logistics facilities of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Brigade and its affiliated militias. .

The outside world has noticed that the targets targeted by the United States are not within Iran’s homeland, but are all in Syria and Iraq. Biden has also publicly stated that he will not conduct air strikes on the Iranian mainland.

The U.S. military used more than 125 precision munitions in this air strike, and also dispatched long-range B-1 bombers taking off from the United States. It seemed to be a large scale. However, the Iraqi government stated that the US air strike killed 16 people, including civilians, and injured at least 25 others.

Generally speaking, the party being attacked will exaggerate this data, but looking at the current data, it is not consistent with the scale of the US military attack.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said on the 2nd that the United States notified the Iraqi government before conducting air strikes on targets in Iraq.

A senior Iraqi official revealed that in fact, before the attack, all the leaders of militia organizations and armed factions related to Iran had quietly evacuated from their respective base headquarters.

In other words, this attack did not really hit the vital points of these militia organizations and did not behead the important leaders of the militants.

Why would Biden do this? He actually does not want a direct conflict with Iran. If the situation escalates, it will drag the United States into a major Middle East war.

Commentator Tang Jingyuan said that if the United States only wants to retaliate against Iran and does not want to subvert the Iranian regime, then it is only treating the symptoms but not the root cause. The United States fired ten missiles at it today, and Iran suffered a loss this time. It may hit you with five more missiles in two days. If everyone goes back and forth, Iran may harass you for a long time. And the US military has so many bases in the Middle East. “It’s not afraid of thieves stealing, but it’s afraid of thieves missing you.” It’s interested in you and can come and mess with you at any time.

“Especially since Biden is facing a general election and is seeking re-election, if he creates an uncontrollable situation on the issue of the Middle East, or if he is unable to resolve the situation quickly in the short term, then it will only be a loss for him. votes, so Biden can only count so far.”

In fact, the United States sees very clearly that the Western Pacific is the main battlefield of the US military. Recently, the US military has deployed three aircraft carriers to the Indo-Pacific region. This is the first time in the past two years that the US military has deployed three aircraft carriers near the “first island chain” at the same time.

On January 31, the aircraft carriers USS Carl Vinson and USS Theodore Roosevelt conducted joint exercises with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. At the same time, the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan was docked at a base in Japan.

Analysts believe that the U.S. military’s strengthening of military power in the Indo-Pacific is a precautionary measure to deal with issues between North and South Korea and future Taiwan Strait issues.

In November 2017, the US military deployed three aircraft carriers in the Western Pacific to respond to the worsening situation on the Korean Peninsula. Since then, the US military has deployed up to two aircraft carriers, or one aircraft carrier, or even no aircraft carrier in the Western Pacific.

In June 2021, the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier was temporarily deployed to the Middle East in order to cooperate with the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. The US military does not have an aircraft carrier in the Indo-Pacific region.

However, last month, North Korea conducted high-profile sea-based nuclear weapons tests and missile tests, putting great pressure on South Korea. Moreover, Taiwan is holding a presidential election, so Northeast Asia has become the focus of the United States.

On the day of the Taiwan election, the United States was worried that the Chinese Communist Party would take action due to its failure in the election, so it transferred the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier from the South China Sea to the Philippine waters east of Taiwan, and the amphibious assault ship USS America later also came to nearby waters.

Media person Guo Jun said at the “Elite Forum” that if the situation in the Middle East heats up, it will have a great impact on the global geopolitical landscape. In fact, the impact is already huge now. For example, Houthi armed attacks on merchant ships have already affected the global supply chain. had an impact. The United States still has many troops in the Middle East, about 20,000, distributed in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain and other places. Bahrain is the base of the U.S. Fifth Fleet. But from a global perspective, neither Europe nor the Middle East may be the place that the United States is most concerned about. In fact, the United States is most concerned about the Asia-Pacific region, which is Northeast Asia. The U.S. military also has the largest number of troops stationed in this region, and its naval and air forces are also deployed. most. The US military’s main focus is still on this region. To put it bluntly, it is targeting the Chinese Communist Party.

The CCP’s Taiwan Strait drills are absurd

The CCP often dispatches fighter planes to conduct so-called drills near the central line of the Taiwan Strait. Military commentator Shen Zhou believes that this kind of drill lacks practical significance. As can be seen from the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian fighter planes did not dare to approach the Ukrainian air defense system because the risk was extremely high. It is ridiculous for the Chinese Communist Party’s fighter jets to conduct drills approaching or crossing the central line of the Taiwan Strait.

The average width of the Taiwan Strait is about 180 kilometers, and the narrowest point is about 126 kilometers. Shen Zhou said that as long as the Chinese Communist fighter jets approach the center line of the Taiwan Strait, they may not be more than 100 kilometers away from Taiwan, and they will be within the range of Taiwan’s air defense missiles. If the CCP’s fighter jets follow a similar route in actual combat, they will be trapped in a trap.

Taiwan recently purchased 300 Patriot III missiles, bringing the total number of Patriot missiles to 650. Patriot missiles caused Russian fighter jets to suffer a lot in the Ukrainian battlefield.

Although the Russian Air Force has an absolute advantage, Ukraine relies on the Western-assisted Patriot air defense system to prevent the Russian army from dispatching large-scale fighter planes to carry out in-depth air strikes. Even on the front lines where the two sides were fighting, Russian fighter planes did not dare to bomb at close range and could only drop guided bombs from a distance. However, due to poor guidance technology, it was difficult to carry out precise air strikes.

However, the CCP seems to have learned nothing from the Russia-Ukraine war and still frequently dispatches fighter planes for drills near the central line of the Taiwan Strait.

Shen Zhou believes that the CCP’s fighter jet drills over the Taiwan Strait are just a political exercise that lacks practical significance and is more like communicating with superiors.

Compared with Ukraine, Taiwan has a greater advantage. Not only has it deployed Patriot II missiles, but it has also recently purchased Patriot III missiles. Moreover, Taiwan also has its own Tiangong-3 missiles, which are also used to intercept missiles; Tiangong-2 missiles are mainly used to deal with Chinese Communist fighter jets.

As long as Taiwan’s air defense system can operate effectively, Chinese Communist fighters will not dare to appear in the Taiwan Strait and may stay over Fujian. The US military will continue to provide Taiwan with air defense systems and even directly station itself in Taiwan to operate them to ensure Taiwan’s air defense capabilities.

Once a war breaks out, some of the Chinese Communist Party’s missiles may deviate from their targets and hit the mountains of Taiwan or fall into the water; it may even happen that the missiles do not cross the Taiwan Strait but land somewhere in Fujian.

Shen Zhou said that although the frontal distance of the Taiwan Strait is the shortest, there is no location suitable for large-scale mechanized landings by the Chinese Communist Army. Therefore, it is unlikely to be the main direction of the Chinese Communist Party’s landing. However, Chinese Communist soldiers may use small boats to conduct feint attacks and harass.

Chinese Communist fighter planes also often harass Taiwan’s southwest airspace, and H-6 bombers also circle eastern Taiwan from time to time, simulating attacks on the Hualien base or the US fleet. The route of cross-sea attack here is the longest and is not an ideal landing place for the Chinese Communist troops.

The Chinese Communist Air Force has the least public exercises on the north side of Taiwan, but it is most likely to be the main direction of the Chinese Communist Party’s landing, directly towards Taipei. This is also the most likely area for air combat between the two sides. The Chinese Communist Party will face the air forces of the United States, Japan and Taiwan.

The Chinese Communist Air Force is very cautious in its exercises on the northern side of Taiwan, for fear of exposing its true combat intentions. In fact, the main bases of the Navy and Air Force in the Eastern Theater Command of the Communist Party of China are near Shanghai, not along the coast of Fujian.

China’s fake products contain excessive levels of carcinogens

Chinese online shopping companies are rapidly expanding overseas with ultra-low prices, quickly occupying the retail markets of many countries such as South Korea. However, China’s cheap products have also aroused vigilance from foreign governments. The South Korean government recently warned that counterfeit goods produced in China contain carcinogenic heavy metals.

Last year, China’s market share in South Korea’s cross-border e-commerce online shopping market surpassed the United States for the first time, becoming South Korea’s largest overseas shopping market.

The South Korean Customs Service recently stated that considering that counterfeit goods have surged six-fold in the past four years, South Korea seized nearly 143,000 counterfeit goods from November 6 to December 1 last year, 90% of which came from China. The most counterfeit goods are clothing, shoes and bags, which infringe on intellectual property rights.

Considering that earrings, bags and other items are in direct contact with the skin, South Korea’s Central Tariff Analysis Institute tested 83 types of goods and found that heavy metals such as lead and cadmium exceeded the standard in 25 types of goods.

During inspections, the South Korean government found that in order to reduce costs, some companies not only used cadmium in surface treatment, but even used lead and cadmium as the main ingredients in the manufacturing process. Some products contained cadmium that exceeded the standard by 930 times. Among the 20 earrings, 15 contained cadmium exceeding 600 times the legal limit. The lead content in Chanel brooches was also detected to be 152 times higher than the legal limit.

Cadmium and its compounds are highly toxic, and exposure to this metal can cause lung cancer, kidney cancer, etc. Lead affects nearly every organ and system in the body, and lead and lead compounds can also cause cancer.

Li Yuanhua, an expert on China issues, said that the reason why the prices of many products in China are very low is not only due to infringement or theft of intellectual property rights, but also the use of contraband or even toxic substances in order to reduce costs. Many of them are shoddy and shoddy. It is difficult for ordinary consumers to distinguish.

He stressed that all countries should pay attention and be vigilant, formulate regulations, cancel tariff exemptions, and impose certain restrictions and testing on online shopping products so that infringing, inferior, and toxic products will not flow smoothly into the hands of consumers in various countries.
