US Department of Health rejects Pfizer’s request for revaccination

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services rejected a request for the massive use of booster doses of the COVID Comirnaty vaccine developed by the American and German pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and BioNTech. The overwhelming majority of the board members opposed the approval of the request, which was submitted by Pfizer and BioNTech.

The report says that the reduction in the effectiveness of the Comirnaty vaccine against the Delta strain has not yet been proven.

“Some studies show that it reduces the effectiveness, while others do not. In general, the results indicate that vaccines against coronavirus, confirmed in the United States, are quite effective in protecting against severe illness or death,” the department explained.
