US asks Russia to explain about military provocation on the Ukrainian border

WASHINGTON – Ministry of Foreign Affairs United States of America (US) asked Russia to shed light on what Washington describes as military provocations at the border Ukraine .

America, Britain, the European Union and NATO have already pledged support for Kiev if Moscow really attacks it.

In comments Monday Washington time, the US State Department also urged Russia to refrain from acting to escalate tensions with Ukraine.

Russia has reportedly assembled troops and moved its battle tanks near the Ukrainian border in recent days. The Moscow maneuvers came as the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine seemed increasingly shaky.

The move by Moscow’s military forces is the latest point of tension between Russia and the United States less than three months after US President Joe Biden took office.

“We ask Russia to refrain from any escalation,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price.

Price said the United States was concerned about Moscow’s attempts to intimidate Ukraine, whether on Russian soil or inside Ukraine.
