Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Government English decided to tighten the application of territorial locking (lockdown) in the city Leicester due to a surge in cases of infection corona virus (Covid-19) in that area.

As reported Associated PressOn Wednesday (1/7), the decision was made by the British Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, in front of legislators. He said Prime Minister Boris Johnson agreed to temporarily close a number of activities in Leicester to curb the infection rate.

Among other things dismiss schools and close shops and shopping centers except drug and food stores.

In fact, around 30 thousand residents in the city of Leicester have only restarted their activities two weeks and entered a new normal stage, after applying lockdown.

Hancock said the difficult decision must be taken in order to save the community.

“Decisions at the regional level are very important as our way to deal with outbreaks while the country is trying to get back on its feet,” Hancock said.

The central government and the city of Leicester decided to tighten up lockdown because the surge in cases in the city reached 10 percent of the total number of infections in the UK.

“If people obey the rules, then we can more quickly control the virus and bring Leicester back to a new normal period,” Hancock said.

Hancock stated the application lockdown in Leicester will be evaluated in the next two weeks. He also promised to increase the ability of corona examinations.

“We are very concerned about the condition of Leicester and are worried that there will be an epidemic spreading at the regional level. I want to emphasize to the public that we have not come out of this crisis,” Johnson said.
