3 grandmothers and 3 grandfathers! Andre Tokev’s strangest confession – 2024-05-12 16:11:18

Chef Andre Tokev has a total of three grandmothers and three grandfathers, he himself revealed to bTV.

“My grandfather and grandmother in Germany divorced when my mother was 5-6 years old, and then everyone started a new family. The relationship was very good and nice. Both my grandparents did a lot and I didn’t differentiate between them. When you are a child, you see clearly and do not differentiate. You see a good attitude that you take for granted,” he shared.

“When my daughter was 3 years old, she was constantly asked, ‘What are you – Bulgarian or German?’ And she answered “Child”. And I’m a person.” That’s how Tokev answered the question as to which one defines himself more – as a Bulgarian or as a German. He was born in Leipzig in 1968.

“Actually, I’m both. Being in Bulgaria, I feel doubly Bulgarian, and being in Germany, I feel doubly German. I wondered why that was. A psychologist in Germany, who is also from a mixed marriage, had dealt with the issue and said, “It’s always the children of mixed marriages who try to make up for the partner they don’t have,” he said.

Andre Tokev’s mother is German, and his father is Bulgarian, who is going to specialize in Germany. The two met there, but his father returned to Bulgaria. And his mother turns out to be the adventurer who unexpectedly decides to go to Bulgaria to look for him and finds him.

“Maybe I have from my mother this trait for experiences, for emotions. Life on Earth is not very long. We are here on an excursion and we have to accumulate a lot of emotions and experiences. My mother taught me exactly this – to take advantage of each moment to experience something positive,” Andre Tokev explained.

“Leipzig was an industrial city for hundreds of years, and I got very sick with chronic bronchitis. A doctor told my parents – but life in Bulgaria has the best climate,” he said.

The family moved from Germany to Peturch.

“Every summer, my father worked for several months at the sea so that I could breathe in the iodine vapors in the morning,” Tokev also shared.

He added that he loves bean soup, and in Germany – dumplings with red cabbage and roast meat.

With his book “I continue”, which Chief Tokev has published, he invites us into his personal world of growth, profession, success, failure, punishment and standing up again.

“I want to motivate many people who fall before big trials or obstacles – I don’t call them problems, because they are really tasks that we have to solve – that you can always get up again, but it is important to learn the right lesson. And then your life it gets even better,” commented Andre Tokev.

“When you are a public figure, you try to motivate people – to achieve, to live better. And suddenly you make a mistake, with which for many people the image ends. Not for me – you can always correct the mistake. My goal is exactly that – to fix the task,” explained the cook.
