Two people suffered carbon monoxide poisoning during a fire in Aktau

As a result, 22 people were evacuated, including five children. Inventory assets totaling 800 million tenge were also successfully rescued.

– The store was equipped with an automatic fire alarm, thanks to which 10 people were able to evacuate independently. Of these 10 people, seven were store employees, and three were visitors, said Kabylet Eshchanov, deputy head of the emergency department of the city of Aktau.

The fire was localized at 17:54 and completely extinguished at 18:38. As a result of the incident, two people from a nearby commercial premises suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Earlier, eyewitnesses reported that the fire occurred in the Simba store.
