The parliament in Kiel is discussing the new Corona resolutions today. NDR Schleswig-Holstein shows Günther’s government declaration from 10 a.m. in a live stream.
Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) wants to present a government statement in the state parliament today on the latest federal-state resolutions in the corona crisis. Parliament had convened a special session on the subject to discuss the partially tightened measures that will apply from next week. In the future, members of a household will only be allowed to meet with one other person, i.e. no longer two couples, for example.
Implementation of individual points still open
The country wants to exempt two groups from the tightened contact restrictions. This affects children under the age of 15 who are cared for by family members and the care of relatives in need, said Minister of Social Affairs Heiner Garg (FDP). The concrete implementation of individual points such as movement restrictions in corona hotspots still needs to be clarified. In addition, schools and daycare centers will remain largely closed, as will restaurants, most shops and leisure facilities, until the end of the month. Günther justified the extension of the lockdown with the persistently high number of infections.
Opposition criticizes vaccination management
The opposition SPD supports the extension of the lockdown. The Social Democrats want to ensure that the allocation of vaccination appointments is regulated differently. So far, these have been available over the Internet and by phone, but they are booked out very quickly. The SPD is now proposing to specifically invite those entitled to vaccinations.
Schleswig-Holstein residents currently have to register for vaccination appointments on the Internet or by calling 116 117. According to the Ministry of Health, the 15,000 appointments for the first and second vaccination were on Tuesday awarded within 24 minutes.
