JAKARTA – Chelsea on Wednesday morning Indonesian Western Time (WIB) officially announced that they had proposed Thomas Tuchel as the new manager of the London club, following the dismissal of Frank Lampard the day before.
Tuchel was given an 18-month employment contract with an option to extend which was in Chelsea’s hands. Upon arriving in London, Tuchel immediately led Chelsea’s training session at Cobham.

“I respect the work and legacy of Frank Lampard at Chelsea. At the same time, I am looking forward to meeting the team members and participating in this most exciting football league, ”he added.
Tuchel arrived at Stamford Bridge with a leading track record from Paris Saint-Germain to sweep the French national title last season, but his tenure in the Frenchman’s capital came to an end due to an unconvincing start to the season he a month ago.

Tuchel will make his debut alongside Chelsea when the Blues host Wolverhampton on Wednesday local time (Thursday WIB).
