Olympiacos won the opener on the same court last Wednesday 77-75 (Williams-Goss 15, Kanaan 14) to grab home court advantage, so the next two games will be played at Faliro on Holy Tuesday and Thursday. If a fifth match is needed (8/5), the teams will return to Barcelona.
The next two matches in the quarter-final series between Maccabi and Panathinaikos will take place on Holy Tuesday and Thursday. The “greens” tied at 1-1 with last night’s 95-79 at OAKA (Sloukas 29, Papapetrou 15, Mitoglou 14, Lesor 11, Nan 10), but the Israelis will typically have the home advantage in the next two matches, closed of doors, in the neutral Pionir Hall of Belgrade.
If a fifth match is needed, it will be held at OAKA on Wednesday, May 8. The participation of the injured Juancho Hernangometh and Wade Baldwin in the next game is considered doubtful.
European champions Real lead Baskonia 2-0 after yesterday’s 101-90 win and need one more win to qualify for the final four in Berlin (May 24-26). In the other pair of quarterfinals, Monaco defeated Fenerbahce in Monte Carlo with a score of 93-88 (Dorsey 23, Papagiannis 6, Kalathis 7) and tied the game at 1-1. The series will continue in Istanbul.
