Touch ID, Punch Hole, dan Layar 9,1 Inch

Jakarta

David Kowalski and Pigtou spread the rendering image which is thought to be an image iPad Mini 6, here are some specifications.

Kowalski had previously leaked images of a number of devices before they were officially released, such as the Pixel 5, Galaxy Note 20, and iPhone 20 Pro. Most recently it has spread images of the iPad Pro 2021, and now the iPad Mini 6.

The 6th generation iPad Mini is said to have a 9.1-inch screen, much bigger than its predecessor, which is only 7.9 inches. Even though the screen is bigger, the body turns out to be the same as its predecessor, except for the thickness which increases by 0.15mm.

This can happen because now the screen has a very thin bezel, different from the previous iPad Mini which had a large enough top and bottom bezel, one of which is to store Touch ID.

So, on the iPad Mini 6, the bezels will be very thin, both above the bottom and the left and right. However, the iPad mini will reportedly still have Touch ID, not on the power button, but at the bottom of the screen.

Previously there were also rumors that Apple would release an iPhone 12S in 2021 and the cellphone would be equipped with a fingerprint sensor under the screen, as quoted by detikINET from Phone Arena, Friday (22/1/2021).

Not only that, according to Kowalski, the iPad Mini 6 will also be equipped with a front camera stored in a hole on the screen, aka a punch hole. If so, then this is the first time Apple has used a screen with a punch hole to store the front camera.

For the system on a chip (SoC) used is probably the A14 Bionic, similar to the one in the iPhone 12 series, and is said to still have a 3.5mm audio port and lightning port, just like the iPad Mini 5.

The iPad Mini 6 is expected to be released by Apple in the first half of 2021, possibly late March, along with the iPad Pro 2021 and the 3rd generation iPhone SE.
