Tom Cruise (57) is aiming high: the Hollywood star and the US space agency NASA are planning a shoot on board the International Space Station. They look forward to working with Cruise, NASA chief Jim Bridenstine wrote on Twitter. The aim is to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to implement NASA’s “ambitious plans”.

Tom Cruise wants to shoot on the ISS

The industry magazine “Deadline.com” previously reported that Cruise also wants to involve the private space company SpaceX by star entrepreneur Elon Musk. The planned film has nothing to do with the “Mission: Impossible” series, and according to the report there is still no studio on board.

Cruise is best known for his daring stunts as Agent Ethan Hunt on “Mission: Impossible” missions. Due to the Corona crisis, shooting for “Mission: Impossible 7” in Italy was stopped in February. The theatrical release of the “Top Gun” sequel was recently postponed to December. In “Top Gun: Maverick” Cruise again plays the role of the former fighter pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who flies death-defying maneuvers over deserts and snow-covered mountain ranges.
