The mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, reported that this Monday national, departmental and municipal authorities will define a date and the actions to follow to megavaccination, in the municipality of La Paz, with the aim of administering anticovid doses to young people aged 16 to 17 yearsIn the same activity, the third dose will be applied to older adults and people with underlying diseases.
“We meet (this Monday) to find out if we do next week a mega vaccination campaign for people over 60 years old and with basic diseases for the third dose (for those over 60 years old) and for boys between 16 and 17 years old ”, stated Arias.
The national government confirmed this day that 1.1 million Pfizer vaccines will arrive in the country on October 19 aimed at protecting adolescents between the ages of 16 and 17 against the coronavirus.
In La Paz, other massive activities have already been carried out to expand vaccination against the coronavirus in other age groups. Last On July 18 of this year, the megavaccination was carried out to administer the first dose to the La Paz population in coordination with the La Paz Departmental Health Service (Headquarters).

Arias highlighted that this Thursday, October 21, the Court of Constitutional Guarantees will rule on the Popular Action that it raised on October 4 to achieve the mandatory vaccination in the country against Covid-19.
“In the city of La Paz we are doing very well, but the rest of the country (the level of vaccinated) is still low. The Court of Constitutional Guarantees has accepted that we do the request not only like La Paz, but also with the rest of the municipalities and the nine governorates ”, he assured.
