The testicular bath must be used first two weeks, and then every couple of months.
A design graduate from the University of Munich, Rebecca Weiss, has invented a new method of contraception for men – the testicular bath. Writes about it Daily Mail.
The COSO device is reported to reduce sperm activity using ultrasonic waves.
“To use the device, you need to pour water into it, which is automatically heated to the temperature of a warm bath. Then, after reaching the desired temperature, the testicles must be placed in the bath for 15 minutes. This should suppress the development of spermatozoa, as a result of which the man will become temporarily sterile.” said in the message.
It is specified that the procedures must be done at intervals of two days, first two weeks under the supervision of a doctor, and then every few months.
The invention has already won the James Dyson Award. This is an international award for industrial design and engineering design.
At the same time, Weiss noted that the device is still a concept, and there is still a long way to mass launch of the product, since it will require rigorous clinical trials to test it. According to her, “the most important stages” of the study will be carried out over the next two to three years.
“This project was so successful that many potential research participants and people interested in buying a product around the world approached us,” said the inventor.
Earlier it was reported that French women under the age of 25 from January 1 will receive free contraceptives. Such assistance will be fully covered by public health insurance.
