They detect a ghost laboratory that provided false tests to Hospital Puerta de Hierro

The Attorney General of the State of Jalisco, Gerardo Octavio Solís reported that both the laboratory of the Puerta de Hierro Andares Hospital, and an alleged laboratory that was identified as a Clinical Analysis Laboratory, were closed.

This as a result of a video recorded by a case of COVID-19 in the municipality of Cuautla, where The patient indicated that it was false that he had the disease, because they performed a test in the private hospital that was negative.

Given this, the Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ) requested the collaboration of the State Prosecutor’s Office (FE) with the Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks of Jalisco (Coprisjal) for the inspection and verification of both laboratories.

As Solís pointed out, the hospital offered the testing service for virus detection and they found inconsistencies in it, since there are only three laboratories in Jalisco endorsed for it.

During the first investigation, the laboratory management led to a house that had the fiscal address in its (local) annex. However, it had the optical sign on it.

For his part, the head of the SSJ, Fernando Petersen Aranguren indicated that “We are fully certain of the positive cases of Cuautla“, Because samplings were made epidemiological of which several were suspected.

Therefore, PCR tests were carried out, which revealed the first case in this municipality: a 24-year-old man who came from Seattle, United States. Nevertheless, at video that circulated this week the patient stated that he was not a carrier due to the negative results of this laboratory.

In the municipality, 25 tests have been carried out on suspicious persons, of which nine positive and the rest negative were identified.

He also indicated that the investigation is part of the inspections that the Commission regularly performs on the establishments that offer this type of evidence.

He remembered that The three authorized laboratories are the Jalisco Public Health Laboratory, the CIBO Laboratory (from the IMSS) and the Clinical Pathology Unit.

“This is worrying and stems from the scarcity of evidence at the federal level, as the Federation only opened the door to those endorsed by the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris). They see in this limitation an opportunity to offer tests that do not meet the standards and that may put the health of the population at risk, ”he lamented.

Three arrested for inciting looting

The attorney general also reported that the agency in his charge managed to arrest two people who were inciting looting of stores on social networks. While the Secretary of Security detained one more.
