Offenbach (dpa / lrs) – It’s getting frosty and slippery in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. On Wednesday there may be permafrost in locations above around 500 meters during the day, as the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach announced in the morning. It is overcast in the north-west, often cloudless in the south-east, with light rain in places. The maximum values are between one and five degrees, in the higher mountains around the freezing point.
On Thursday night it will snow in the mountains and rain in the lowlands. Later it can even snow down to the lower elevations. There is a risk of ice. The lows are between two and minus one degree, in the mountains between zero and minus three degrees.
On Thursday there will be occasional showers. Snow and ice can still be expected in the mountains with maximum values between minus one and three degrees, otherwise three to six degrees.
