With the The Witcher-Play got the Polish company CD project worldwide fame. But what many did not know is that the witcher Geralt von Riva and the universe were not invented by the developer, but were created by a book author named Andrzej Sapkowski. The latter gave the license for video game implementations to CD Projekt for a fixed price, because at that time he did not think of the success of video games.
But after the third game was released, he asked the company for more money in 2018. The claim was 60 million złoty (about 14 million euros). CD Projekt refused to do so, but presented the author with an offer to find a satisfactory solution for both sides. An agreement now seems to have been reached, as an agreement was signed by both sides a few days ago. However, exact details of the deal are not known.
