So far, the following measures have been taken: All three matches of the group on retention, ie the duels Zlín – Karviná, Příbram – Teplice and Opava – Olomouc, were postponed from Saturday 4 July not to Wednesday 8 July, as it originally looked, but according to a recent report indefinitely.

The next step depends on the hygienic measures taken. If the quarantine were to apply to only a few individuals, then the matter would still be solvable, alternative dates would still be available.

“But if a strict and widespread fourteen-day quarantine were imposed on the club, it would be very difficult to solve,” admits Dušan Svoboda.

According to the schedule, two more rounds need to be played in the group. And then a possible barrage. The league year cannot be played indefinitely. The new one starts around August 20. And clubs need time for at least a short vacation and especially preparation.

In connection with Karviná, there is speculation about 3, according to the isport.cz website, even up to 7 cases with a positive test for covid-19. This fact, ie the fact that there are several such people, increases the probability that the quarantine could really affect the whole club or team.

In previous cases recorded in Slavia, Mladá Boleslav and Třinec, it was always the only positively tested person in the club. The matter could therefore be resolved after all others had been properly tested so that only this single person remained in quarantine. And the others could quickly return to the training process and the matches.

If, due to the “Karviná case”, the first league competition were not completed, it would have major sports and technical consequences.

The Prague Slavia should not lose the title, because in May the innovated rules stipulate that if the group loses its title, the determination of the champion should not be disturbed in any way.

It would be different with the question of descent and progress.

If the retention group remained unfinished, there would be no playoff. And no one should descend from the first league.

On the contrary, the winner of the second highest competition should advance. In its running table, Pardubice is one point ahead of Zbrojovka Brno, while Pardubice has four games left to play, Zbrojovka three.
