Daniel Koch from the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) in the TV program “Sportpanorama” from SRF promises two that football games with an audience could be held again from July.

The lower number of new infections with the corona virus in Switzerland also gives Koch a positive rating for sport. «Sport is important. And in any case, the goal is that we can get audiences back into sport as soon as possible. »

Sport is an important area, which is now also due to easing measures. That also applies to the viewers, explains Koch: «The time horizon is difficult to estimate, it always depends on the number of cases. But should these continue to fall as in the past few weeks, then sporting events with spectators should be possible again soon, perhaps already in July. In the end, of course, the Federal Council decides, it is ultimately the responsibility. »

Games with spectators are vital for the survival of numerous Swiss sports clubs that rely on spectator income. According to Koch, you now have to work out a concept with the clubs about how efficient tracking in the stadiums would be possible. It must be possible to trace back who was in the stadium at any time.

That would mean that for the time being there would be no standing room, only seating. Incoming inspections and food stands may also look different than usual. The next Wednesday, the Federal Council will inform about the second step of the easing measures, which will come into force on June 8.
