Multiplayer sci-fi FPS series Tribeswhich was popular at the end of the last century and the beginning of the current one, will revive with a new work that is being prepared by the developers from Prophecy Games. The studio was created in late 2019 as a subsidiary of Hi-Rez Studios, which was behind the latest but still quite old Tribes: Ascend, but became independent in 2020.
It was the Tribes series that Prophecy Games obviously took with them and now reveals the first details regarding their new venture. We still don’t know his name, but that apparently doesn’t stop the creators from allegedly launching it considerable public testing. Those interested in it can join at official Discord server studies.
Meanwhile, the creators boasted screenshots from the previous test wave. The portal informed about it FPS-Z. It must be said that visually the title is very similar to the aforementioned Tribes: Ascend, but of course you can’t help but notice the modernization of the HUD and the graphics themselves.
Specific details about the gameplay have not yet been revealed, however, some of the images seem to capture it Capture the Flag (CTF) game mode. It’s also clear that movement won’t be limited to running – the heroes are seemingly equipped with something resembling jetpack. The screenshots also show the ability to switch between three weapons mid-fight and use special abilities, although it’s not clear what kind.
According to FPS-Z, the game is still in early stage of development, and therefore the screenshots may not accurately reflect how it will look in the final. However, at least they give us a glimpse of what the creators have planned and in which direction the development is going.
