The girl, who was searched for more than a year and a half by the whole of Ukraine, has been found dead. On March 3, 2022, fifteen-year-old Arina Yachuk tried to flee the horrors of war caused by Russia with her family, but she was injured by the Russian occupiers on the Zhytomyr highway. Later it became clear that Arina was in Belarus all this time – in a morgue.
The girl’s parents were killed at the scene when they tried to go to a safer place. The Russians took the wounded Aryna away, presumably for treatment. Since then, nothing was known about him, the portal “Oboz.ua” reports.
Did Belarus cover up the death of the Ukrainian girl?
In October of this year, relatives of 15-year-old Arina Yachuk were finally able to bury her in Uman, Cherkasy region, next to her mother and father, who were killed by Russian soldiers.
More than a year and a half later, her grandparents, uncles and aunts hoped that Arina was alive. They responded to every little piece of information about an unknown child taken to Belarus.
But their hopes were in vain. All this time, Arina’s body lay in a morgue in the city of Mozyra, Belarus.
Relatives wrote countless requests to Belarus, because they had received information that the injured girl had been taken to this country. However, each time they received the answer that Arina is not in the territory of Belarus – neither alive nor dead.
By the time of the exchange, the girl’s body was handed over to Ukraine. He was then identified by DNA.
