More than a month after the start of exclusive negotiations between Tencent and Leyou Technologies, Bloomberg reports that the two sides are close to a deal for an amount exceeding one billion euros, according to the value of Leyou Technologies share which is currently 3.20 Hong Kong dollars. Major shareholder of Leyou Technologies, Charles Yuk has wanted to sell all of his company’s shares for almost a year. According to Bloomberg sources, negotiations are now very advanced so that an agreement could be announced as early as this week.
Players are probably better acquainted with Leyou Technologies through its subsidiaries including Digital Extremes (Warframe), Splash Damage (Gears Tactics) and Athlon Games (which took over the Telltale Games brand and is working on a Lord of the Rings MMO with Amazon Games). Leyou Technologies also includes two Chinese studios (Kingmaker and Radiance Games) and owns 20% of the capital of the Texas studio Certain Affinity.
