A Chinese citizen residing in Saudi Arabia committed suicide on Saturday, when he threw himself from the third floor of a government hospital, in which he was isolated after being suspected of having contracted the Corona virus.
The Jeddah Health Administration confirmed, in an official statement, the death of the Chinese after he threw himself out of the window of the isolation room in King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah, according to Al-Uriah Net.
The statement pointed out that «one of the students residing in the Kingdom arrived at King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah by the Red Crescent at dawn on Friday, and was suspected of being infected with a respiratory virus, according to the symptoms that appeared on him at the time of entering the hospital.
He added, “He was dealt with according to the medical norms, and took all the precautionary measures in force, and he was placed in the isolation room until the laboratory results appear.”
The statement confirmed that the results of the analyzes, which were reached, showed that the young man was healthy from any infection with any virus.
For its part, the Department of Health in Jeddah indicated that the young man had been residing in Saudi Arabia for 8 months and was a student at King Abdulaziz University.
She explained that he was placed in a completely closed isolation room, according to the health requirements of quality. However, he removed the window’s safety button, and threw himself.
The competent authorities began investigating the incident as soon as a report was received.
