State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin declared the Azov servicemen “Nazi criminals” who must face trial.

The Russian State Duma is going to ban the exchange of Ukrainian servicemen of the Azov regiment, who defend Mariupol and now hold positions at the Azovstal metallurgical plant. This became known on Tuesday, May 17.

So, today at a meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, deputy Anatoly Wasserman declared all of Ukraine a “terrorist group.” At the same time, he made a proposal to adopt an appropriate decree or law on the exchange of prisoners. In his opinion, the exchange of at least one Azov serviceman will be declared a “victory for Ukraine.”

In addition, Wasserman proposed to ban the exchange of the military with “fascist” tattoos.

In turn, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin approved Wasserman’s initiative and instructed the Committee on Defense and Security to prepare a protocol order to ban the exchange of the military of the Azov regiment.

“”Nazi criminals” should not be exchanged. These are “war criminals” and we must do everything to bring them to justice,” Volodin said.

The day before it was reported that from the territory of Azovstal 264 Ukrainian soldiers were taken out, including more than 50 seriously injured. They were sent to the occupied Novoazovsk. It was stated that these fighters would be exchanged for captured Russians.

And today, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk said that humanitarian operation at Azovstal continues.
