The Russian Foreign Ministry published a correspondence with Germany and France about the “Normandy”

It was allegedly decided to publish the diplomatic correspondence in order to “avoid further speculation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry claims.

The Russian Foreign Ministry published the correspondence between Minister Sergei Lavrov and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian about the Normandy ministerial meeting, previously scheduled for November 11. This was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, November 17.

The Russian ministry claims that the decision to publish the diplomatic correspondence was made to “avoid further speculation.” The ministry also argues that the publication of primary sources should exclude “distortion of the position and role of Russia” in the settlement of the conflict in Donbass and the approach to the Normandy meeting at the level of foreign ministers.

The published correspondence contains letters from Lavrov and the foreign ministers of Germany and France on the preparation of the Normandy ministerial meeting. They discuss, among other things, the draft final document.

In turn, Russia calls the replies of Jean-Yves Le Drian and Heiko Maas of November 4 “disappointing”, since the final document allegedly will not include the items on which Russia insisted – direct dialogue between Ukraine and ORDLO and the work of the OSCE SMM.

Let us remind you that earlier Moscow did not suit draft final document on “Normandy”… The Germans and French began to read Minsk differently, to call Russia a party to the conflict, the source complained.
