The reason the National Police Chief Wants to Withdraw KPK Employees Not Passing TWK to the Police

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo claimed to have received approval from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to withdraw 56 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).NCP) who was dismissed to work in the Criminal Investigation Police of the National Police.

According to Listyo, the Bhayangkara Corps saw the track record and experience of the KPK employee who has the ability to eradicate corruption. Therefore, the former Kabareskrim believes that the track record of 56 KPK employees who were fired for failing the national insight test (TWK) to change the status of the state civil apparatus (ASN) is useful for strengthening the National Police as an institution.

“Because we see that it is related to the track record and of course the experience of corruption, of course it is very useful to strengthen the ranks of the organizations that we are currently developing, to strengthen the Polri organization,” Listyo said in a press conference recording in Papua received CNNIndonesia.com from the Police Public Relations Division, Tuesday (29/9).

Jokowi’s approval, said Listyo, was given after his party wrote directly to notify him of his request. Jokowi’s answer, he continued, was sent in writing through the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno on 27 September.

“We sent a letter to the President to appeal to 56 people who carried out the TWK test who did not pass the test and were not appointed as KPK ASN so that we could withdraw and then we recruited them to become Polri ASN,” Listyo said. “He agreed to the 56 KPK employees to become National Police ASNs.”

Furthermore, continued Listyo, his party was asked to coordinate with the Kemenpan RB and BKN.

“The process is ongoing and the mechanism is currently being discussed. To be able to recruit 56 people to become ASN Polri,” said Listyo.

For information, the KPK has decided to dismiss 57 employees who failed to pass the national insight test (TWK) to change their status to ASN as of September 30, 2021. Of the 57 employees, including a number of mainstay investigators such as Yudi Purnomo who is also the Chairman of the KPK Employee Forum, a former member of the National Police Novel Baswedan, Harun al Rasyid, nicknamed the King of OTT, and Director of Inter-Commission and Agency Network Development (PJKAKI) Sujanarko, who is also known to be entering retirement age.
