Osde’s institutional relations manager, Gabriel Barbagallo, in an interview with El Litoral gave details of the modern tool that they made available to their members and the benefits of this system that allows monitoring patients (with compatible symptoms) from their homes. to comply with the mandatory quarantine.
“We cover all the prehospital logistics, and since the first case of covid-19 appeared, we modified some processes always aligned to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Health. Along these lines, a system was put in place to quickly reach people suffering from a covid-19 infection and, in the event of a suspicious case, we activated the corresponding protocol to notify the enforcement authority of each district, “he said. Barbagallo.
The online medical consultation line is coordinated throughout the country with a service specifically focused on pandemic care (as well as dengue and measles). “The consultations to our emergency system increased by 110%. We have an average of about 4,000 calls per day in Amba and we had a peak of 15,000 calls ”, indicated the manager of institutional relations.
In fact, in the middle of the intensive control they activated 130 protocols for coronavirus, and at least 20 cases tested positive for covid-19. “Given the presumption of coronavirus, the Ministry of Health is immediately informed and the patient remains in their hands,” he said.

When giving details of the operation of the modern telemedicine system, Barbagallo, told El Litoral: “When a patient calls the emergency system, he is classified through a triage, to detect some of the emerging diseases (covid- 19, dengue or measles) and if necessary is referred to a doctor through a link that reaches the cell phone or tablet.
Next step, the patient visually connects with the doctor who performs two questionnaires. “From a medical point of view, he is asked about the symptoms, when and how they started; and from the epidemiological point of view, he is asked about the areas he visited and who he was in contact with. If you have symptoms of covid-19 infection (high fever, dry cough, sore throat and high fever) and you were also in contact with a patient; the coronavirus protocol is immediately activated and the information is sent to the corresponding Ministry or area so that the studies can be carried out and isolation established, ”said the manager, who is also a doctor.
