Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has renewed the Syrian government’s keenness to bring aid into all regions to provide relief to those affected.
President al-Assad indicated that it is important when dealing with the humanitarian situation in Syria to look at the infrastructure and other sectors such as health and communications, because they are integrated with each other and directly affect the humanitarian and living conditions of the Syrians.
President al-Assad’s words came during his meeting, today, Tuesday, with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Iger, where the latter confirmed that the Red Cross is working to provide the Syrian people with basic needs, and to provide everything necessary to help them overcome the difficult situation they are exposed to due to the earthquake.
Eger pointed out that the organization is working to mobilize efforts to expand the scope of its humanitarian operations throughout the Syrian territory, and it appreciates the cooperation shown by the Syrian government and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in this regard.
