The Future of Liverpool, Spend Less and Maximize Young Players Page all

KOMPAS.com – Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp, does not deny that many parties are linking the Reds with new players ahead of the transfer market.

However, Klopp insisted he did not want to waste a lot of money in difficult times due to a pandemic like today.

The German-born coach didn’t want to spend a lot just to make Liverpool star-studded.

Instead, Klopp wants to brush up on what Liverpool have from their academy.

He frankly will maximize young players both in the main squad and at the lower levels.

For example, Klopp did not seem to care about Chelsea being able to recruit Timo Werner.

Even so when a name like Jadon Sancho is associated with the Anfield camp, Klopp is also ordinary.

“We can’t spend a lot of millions of dollars because we want to,” said Klopp.

Sure enough, since bringing super-expensive goalkeeper Alisson Becker in 2018, the Reds are no longer spending high-priced players.

Klopp mostly make internal transfers or buy young players whose prices are still understandable, one of them is Takumi Minamino.

The Japanese national player was bought by Liverpool from Red Bull Salzburg at a price of 7.25 million pounds.

“We want to strengthen this already strong squad. The problem is, with a strong team, how to make it even stronger in the transfer market?” he asked.

“Can succeed with money, of course. However, succeeding is not only with money,” he was quoted as saying Daily Mail.

“You must continue to be creative and we try to be creative. We will find solutions internally and there are still many that can be maximized.”

“We have two or three players who can develop better,” he explained.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach insists Liverpool are still ready with the existing squad to look to the future.

“If you are a football supporter, you want a coating for this and that player. In fact, if you are happy with all the players, we still need a coating.

“We don’t have 11 main players, this team has 16 or 17 main players, they can all play at the same level,” Klopp explained.
