And yes, a prophet appeared – as of today, after him, our football is in knockdown, and the state – in a knockout!”
This is what the Bateto’s secretary Blagorodka Petkova said today, who on both May 1 and May 11 – when it is Ivan Slavkov’s birthday – lights a candle for him and remembers the days when they worked together, reports Bulgaria today.
“I have been working with him since 1976 and there are many lessons that I have remembered. There are also many people who, as I have already said more than once, betrayed him. But it is for them,” says Buba.
On May 1, 13 years have passed since the death of the former chairman of the BOC, member of the IOC and president of the BFS.
“Unfortunately, things will not return and we have to look forward, but such a miracle as now has never happened. Ivan Slavkov would not have allowed all this to happen at BFS if he was alive. He gave so much to culture and sports”, Blagorodka is categorical.

I still remember when Todor Slavkov entered “Big Brother”, he said: “It’s good, they got a license for such shows, but they can’t do it well. Everything degenerates here”. “After Stefan, who was gathering us, left, and Straho is not well, most of our relatives at that time are no longer alive. Otherwise, I also hear from Valya, Slavkov’s wife, and the others, but we have not seen for a long time,” said Blagorodka. The secretary will be happy if she is invited to the gathering, as it will be a reminder of “that glorious time during Slavkov’s time”.
