In 2023, the first Bulgarian electric car should leave the factory. This became clear after the Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov signed a contract with the German company Next e.Go.
In Bulgaria, small city electric cars will be produced using a completely new technology and the company will not only sell them, but also customers will be able to use them, and with a new model to change the car, said the executive director of the German company Ali Vezvai. The price of such a car in Germany is 25 thousand. euros, but the buyer receives 9 thousand. euro tax incentive from the state. Such an electric car must be able to travel 200 km on a single charge.
The operation costs BGN per day, I don’t know how much the subway costs, but it seems to be cheaper, explained Georgi Domuschiev, owner of the land on which the plant will be built.
The company’s plant will be in Lovech on the site of the Balkan plant. They are provided by the owner of the plant Georgi Domuschiev.
The investment is for 140 million euros and the plant has to make 30,000 cars a year. Bulgaria as a country provides 34 million euros in incentives, but on condition, said Minister Kiril Petkov. The first incentives will be when the first car leaves the factory, the next ones will be with 10,000 cars produced annually, and the full amount with 20,000 cars produced and sold per year, Petkov said.
A new model of the company will be made in Bulgaria, which has increased off-road capability, it became clear during the presentation of the prototype in Sofia.
The talks were held for only five weeks and Bulgaria has promised zero corruption to the investor, said Kiril Petkov.
