The day of silence has come in Kazakhstan

The election campaign started on February 18 at 18:00 and continued until 00:00 on March 18. At the end of the month allotted for this process, that is, from 00:00 on March 18 to 00:00 on March 19, a day of silence was declared in Kazakhstan.

Any campaigning activity on this day entails consequences for the candidates or the electoral association in whose interests it is carried out.

Recall that elections to the Majilis and maslikhats will be held on the same day – March 19. This decision was made by the Central Election Commission. The total duration of early elections of deputies to the Mazhilis of the Parliament and maslikhats from the day of appointment to the voting day will be 59 days.

7 political parties were admitted to the elections. At the same time, 609 candidates were nominated in single-mandate constituencies in Kazakhstan, 525 of them are self-nominated. According to the CEC, 12 million 32 thousand 550 people will be able to vote in the elections of deputies of the Mazhilis.

Earlier, the CEC showed samples of ballot papers for voting in the upcoming elections of deputies of the Mazhilis and maslikhats on March 19. There are five types in total, each has its own color.

It was also reported that 124 observers from 41 foreign states and 662 observers from 12 international organizations will come to Kazakhstan to observe the extraordinary elections of deputies of the Mazhilis and maslikhats.
