This survival film looks back on the tragedy that occurred in 1972 when a plane, transporting a Uruguayan rugby team, crashed in the Andes Mountains. For more than two months, some of the survivors had to overcome hunger, cold and extreme conditions.

Since its presentation at various festivals, Le Cercle des neiges has received praise from the international press. The feature film even represents Spain in the Oscar race. But what about the opinion of the spectators*? A quick overview.

With an average of 4.2 out of 5, it is an understatement to say that the rating reflects the quality of the film. Bad reviews are in the minority. Among them, some point out lengths and a lack of depth in the development of the characters, as Gregg S. points out: “A few flashes and good intentions unfortunately do not necessarily make a good dramatic film. The problem of the snow circle , is that it revolves a lot around its characters without ever really giving them the substance they deserve.”

MASTERPIECE ?

Naughty Dog writes: “It’s simple, here we have one of the best recent survival games, always centered on humans, and nourished by an impressive setting.” Mariela adds: “The Ring of Snow is a must-see feature film for fans of survivalism and true history. It is a powerful and unforgettable tale of the strength of the human spirit.”

Spectators even speak of it as a “masterpiece”, like Math719: “Never has a film been so realistic on this subject. Worth seeing and what a shame that a film like this has never been released. cinema! Grandiose, magnificent, sad, alive and horrible at the same time!” An equally cheerful opinion for Christophe Dellisse who writes: “A moving film that will bring tears from deep within you, through the drama itself and not through sensationalism! What a splendid narration in all modesty of a dramatic tragedy! “
