As the Spanish newspaper writes El País, “The Boeing 787-8 cost 200 million euros and for 24 euros it can pass into the hands of a Mexican citizen”.
More: six million tickets will be produced, which means that if they are all sold, Lopéz Obrador will be able to recover a large part of the 200 million euros.
“The plane will be raffled so that we do not have time problems and all Mexicans who want to help will be able to participate,” said the president at a press conference.
The first option of the 66-year-old head of state was to sell the device, but he was unable to find a buyer.
Lopéz Obrador refused to use the presidential plane when he took office in December 2018, and started traveling only on commercial flights, a measure that accompanies the austerity he imposed on the country.
