The Philadelphia 76ers were punished by the NBA on Monday for violating free agency rules, a period in which negotiations and signing of contracts with non-binding players are allowed.
According to ESPN USA, team officials contacted representatives from PJ Tucker and Danuel House Jr., before the set day of the 2022 low season.
The punishment is the loss of the next two picks, in the 2023 and 2024 draft.
According to an official NBA statement, the Sixers cooperated in the investigation.
It is the fourth club to suffer this kind of punishment in the past two years, after the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.
ESPN also anticipated that the League is investigating the New York Knicks for the same reasons, in the case of the signing of Jalen Brunson, former Dallas Mavericks.
