Elon Musk is currently meeting with Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Andreas Scheuer at the Gigafactory Berlin construction site. Apparently he cares a lot about speeding up his work.
The Tesla gigat factory originally had Berlin start producing Tesla Model Y electric cars in the coming weeks, around July. But when you are in April 2021, Tesla began to complain about the German bureaucracy, it was clear that it would not be so easy.
Elon Musk currently visited the problematic building and publicly delayed the production of the European version of electric cars Tesla Model Y commented. He said it looks like now start of production “potentially” in January 2022.
In a quick discussion with local journalists, Musk complained that there should be some process of removing the rules. “Otherwise, over time, the rules will simply pile up and there will be more and more, and in the end nothing can be done.” he added, apparently to the address of the German authorities and officials.
At the same time, the Berlin Gigat Factory is critical for Tesla, because only then will it be able to start supplying the European market with its new Model Y electric cars. These are currently only produced and sold in USA.
