Taliban Feel Betrayed After Finding State-of-the-Art Aircraft Abandoned by US Military Has Been Destroyed

ACCEPTED, KOMPAS.TVThe Taliban are reportedly angry and feel betrayed after seeing the state of the sophisticated planes and helicopters left by the US military.

The Afghan armed militia group found abandoned planes and helicopters at Kabul Airport and worth millions of dollars damaged.

The US military reportedly left a number of war equipment when leaving Afghanistan, Tuesday (31/8/2021).

US Evacuation Mission Commander General Frank McKenzie confirmed they were demilitarizing the 73 abandoned aircraft.

As quoted from Daily Star and Mail OnlineThe Taliban felt betrayed by the US for thinking the equipment and vehicles were Afghan property.

A journalist Al Jazeera who got permission to enter the airport with the Taliban, asked why they thought the US military would leave their plane unharmed.

He was told that the planes and helicopters would be a national asset, and could be put to good use by them.

“They were so disappointed, they were angry and felt betrayed because all the equipment was broken,” said the journalist Al Jazeera that.

The US itself was criticized for leaving sophisticated weapons and aircraft in the hands of the Taliban.
