Police are looking for the driver of an SUV who they say tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl in Brooklyn in broad daylight over the weekend.
The girl was walking down Pitkin Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when she noticed a dark SUV had started following her, according to authorities.
At some point, she stopped and the suspect, who did not know her, got out and walked towards her. The man then allegedly tried to grab a laundry cart that she was pushing and convince her to come with him. The driver reportedly tried to persuade her several times, but she refused.
Finally, the girl was able to run to safety. The driver got back into his car and was last seen traveling west on Along Avenue.
No injuries were reported.
Police released surveillance video of the vehicle they are searching in connection with the incident. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-57-PISTA.
