Take note! New assembly restrictions on Covid-19 come into force today – Society and Politics – News

Continuing to limit the rapid increase in the prevalence of Covid-19 in Latvia, the government decided, along with other new restrictions, to reduce the number of gatherings allowed for events, including stipulating that as of today, there will be no difference between indoor and outdoor gatherings.

From now on, no more than ten people will be able to gather at private events, both indoors and outdoors. In turn, public events will be open to a maximum of 300 people, both indoors and outdoors. Until now, up to 300 people could be gathered indoors at public events or economic services, and up to 1,000 people could be gathered outdoors.

As the Ministry of Health emphasizes, as Covid-19 is rapidly spreading to family and friends, residents need to consider the need for events that bring people out of their “social bubble”.

In addition, as before, indoor public spaces, including rented premises, must have fixed, personalized seating and face masks for events, and events must not exceed 50% of the capacity of the room.

Also, outdoor gatherings of up to 300 people may not exceed 50% of the outdoor capacity, and the required distance between visitors must be ensured.

The Ministry of Health calls for a careful assessment of the need to attend public events, emphasizing that there is a higher risk of infection in crowded places.
